Delete your PLAYMAPY account

This page explains how to delete your PLAYMAPY account and its data — also if you no longer have the app.

App and developer

The PLAYMAPY app for Android and iPhone and the playmapy.com website share one account. Developer: Goality Sport Group OÜ, registry code 17232252, Peterburi tee 34/4, 11415 Tallinn, Estonia.

Before you start

There is nothing to cancel first: PLAYMAPY has no subscriptions or payments.

In the app

1. Open the PLAYMAPY app and sign in.
2. Open your profile or account settings and tap “Delete account”.
3. Read what will happen and confirm with your password — or, on iPhone, with Apple if you sign in with Apple.

On the website

1. Sign in at playmapy.com with the same account.
2. Open “Profile and settings”, then “Security”, and choose “Delete account”.
3. Read what will happen and confirm with your password.

By email

If you don’t see the “Delete account” button, or you can’t confirm deletion — for example, your account signs in with Apple and you don’t use the iPhone app — write to hello@playmapy.com from your account’s email address and ask us to delete your account. Under the GDPR we must reply within one month.

The “Delete account” button appears in the app and on the website only while online deletion is switched on. Email works always.

What is deleted

• Access ends right away: you’re signed out on every device and can’t sign in again.
• Your profile, contacts, settings, connections and follows, and sports data are deleted.
• Your Moments, photos and videos are deleted, including public ones, for everyone. Your trainings, check-ins and reviews are deleted too.
• Challenge participation, badges, XP and progress disappear.
• Erasure starts as soon as you confirm; the deadline we have set for it is 7 days. When deletion is complete, we send a confirmation email to your account’s address.
• Once you confirm, deletion can’t be cancelled.

What is kept, and why

• Changes to places that moderators have already accepted stay on the map, because other people rely on them; your name is removed from them.
• If you’ve already been given a physical reward, the fact that it was handed out stays only in an anonymised log, with no link to you.
• A record of your deletion request, as proof that the deletion was carried out.
• If you made decisions as a moderator or on behalf of an organisation, the records of those decisions stay.
• Older entries of our internal event log can still contain your account identifier or name. They are cleaned up under a separate plan.
• Data the law requires us to keep is stored separately from the app until its retention period ends.
• Database backups are made daily; deleted data remains in them for some time until they are replaced. The server log is kept in a limited volume and is overwritten as it fills up.
• Where this page gives no time frame, it has not been set yet. When it is set, we will name it here and in the privacy policy.
